Our mission statement

“Working with you to make Cambuslang and Rutherglen the healthiest and happiest places to live in Scotland"

Why a wind turbine?

Like the majority of voluntary organisations, this current economic climate has proved our greatest challenge to date. Our core funding has been systematically reduced each year and we have been forced to consider new income generating projects.

Becoming financially self-sustaining is now a key goal in securing the future of our organisation. Several options were considered before finally settling on a single wind turbine. It associated best with our values whilst also generating enough revenue to guarantee this organisation’s future.

Our intentions

Our intentions for a wind turbine were cemented with these three points:

  • To ensure Healthy n Happy continues to deliver services to the communities of Cambuslang & Rutherglen for the next 25 years
  • To provide a community fund for community groups to apply for
  • We believe communities and not just private corporations should benefit from wind turbines

The Enercon E-53 promises a long and reliable life for the Healthy n Happy Community Turbine.
